Baltimore Design School (BDS), Maryland’s only transformation school dedicated to preparing middle and high school students for careers in design, is hosting its first major back to school rally on October 24, 12noon – 3pm, at the school’s award winning facility in state-of-the-art educational facility in the Station North Arts and Entertainment District. The event, hosted by BDS’ Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is open to the public; interested parents, future students and potential supporters are encouraged to attend.

The rally will include artwork displays, facility tours, concession, raffle prizes including tickets to cultural and arts activities and fun activities for all ages.  Stay until 2:30 where organizers will attempt the biggest line dance the community has seen.

Dr. Melissa Patrylo, principal and founding consultant, is excited about the event. “We are off to a great start this year, and this rally will help us show our appreciation for the students, their families, our exceptional faculty and the many other supporters that make up the village that makes our students’ continued success possible.”

Graduates of The Baltimore Design School, “Designing Baltimore one student at a time,” will be prepared to enter vigorous college programs and careers in the fields of Fashion Design, Architecture and Graphic Design. The school moved into its award winning specially designed facility in the Station North Arts district in 2013, and graduated its first class of middle school students the following June.

Parents and students interested in learning more about the school or the back to school rally can visit the school’s website at www.baltimoredesignschool.org or contact Chris Frederick – PTO Communications at 443-527-2139.
